RATEC butterfly valves, also known as butterfly dampers, shut-off dampers or air dampers, direct the airflow in your extraction system exactly to the extraction points where it is needed. When an extraction point is not in use, the valve closes the duct and the full suction power stays available to the remaining active points, without wasting energy. We design every valve for your duct and build it at our own plant in St. Veit an der Glan, Austria.

How butterfly valves work
A rotating valve disc sits inside the duct. When it is parallel to the flow, the duct is open. Turned across the flow, it shuts the duct off. In intermediate positions, the airflow can be regulated continuously. In this way, butterfly valves prevent unwanted air movement at points that are currently inactive and help to balance the system evenly.
Your benefits
- Regulate: adjust the airflow at each extraction point with ease.
- Shut off: close unused points and keep suction where it is needed.
- Save energy: the fan does not have to draw air through open, unused ducts.
- Easy to integrate: also suitable for retrofitting into existing systems.

Matching accessories
Butterfly valves work closely with intake manifolds, which distribute the airflow to several points, and with sniffing valves, which keep the extraction power constant. We plan complete solutions as central vacuum systems. We manufacture in our own plant in Carinthia, certified according to ISO 9001, EN 1090-1 and ISO 3834-2.
